Question by Ron G: How do I fix old debt in collections?
I have about $ 5,000 in old debt, mostly medical bills that have been in collection and not paid on for a long time ( 4yrs). The amounts vary $ 299, $ 1726, $ 520 ect. I got the info from my credit report, $ 3,100 of it is all at one collection agency. Whats the best way to settle the debt, and start repairing my credit. I dont have not one good thing on my credit report

Answer by StephenWeinsteinYou do not fix it. You reduce the damage. Debt that is already in collections cannot be fixed completely. You can, and should, pay it, but it will continue to hurt your credit.
